Alex Gordon Shute

…created Ithaca Partners, having worked in Communications executive search for The Rose Partnership, Odgers Ray & Berndtson and Taylor Bennett. Her search experience builds on an earlier career initially as a Fast Streamer in the Diplomatic Service and then with FTSE 250-listed, specialist insurer Hiscox for seven years, where for her last three years she led the Marketing and Communications team. Alex holds a degree from Durham University.

Laura Hughes

…joined Ithaca Partners from Bird & Co, having been a senior researcher there for four years. She has worked on a wide range of Board and Executive appointments, principally in the media sector. Before joining Bird & Co she worked for a boutique search firm focused on sustainability and green technology businesses. She graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Law. She has travelled extensively and lives on the South Coast where she enjoys watersports and horse riding.

Laura Williams

…joined Ithaca Partners in July 2008 as Office Manager and PA to Alex Gordon Shute, having worked for a children’s charity where she was responsible for event management and advertising. Prior to this Laura spent 9 years with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office as a generalist and turned her hand to a variety of challenging roles before leaving to start a family.

Claire Mathews

…joined Ithaca Partners in February 2010 to help Laura Williams with the smooth running of the business. Prior to Ithaca Partners, Claire worked as PA to the Safeguarding Co-ordinator for children and vulnerable adults in Essex and East London. Before that she was responsible for event management and administration for a local children's charity. In her early career, and whilst starting her family, she held a number of administrative posts in hospitals and clinics in Essex
